In addition, her portfolio includes light commercial, office, restaurant and retail design projects.
Her approach combines technical expertise with a strong focus on listening to clients, ensuring each project reflects their unique needs and aspirations.
"My goal with any project is to listen, understand, and translate your needs into thoughtful, efficient designs that will make your life better. Whether designing your dream home or creating a much needed addition for your growing family – connecting with my clients and bringing their vision to reality is the best part of my job." ~Jennifer Morgenthau
Architect Services
The most successful residential architecture projects are the ones in which the client, the architect and the builder work and collaborate together. Maintaining that communication results in shared expectations of budget, schedule and design outcome. I believe expertise, honesty, and shared mutual trust lay the foundation for long-term partnerships where good ideas are nurtured and fully integrated. My involvement can extend throughout construction if needed to ensure the design is successfully realized.
Residential design services include:
• Architectural and interior design consultation and space-planning.
• Schematic design for new construction, renovations and additions.
• Design development, based on an ongoing dialogue with our clients.
• Preparation of a full set of construction documents for bid and permit.
• Assistance in contractor selection and bid negotiation.
• Aid in the interpretation of the drawings throughout construction.

Involvement
My affiliations with these organizations keep me connected to my community and the building industry, allowing me to stay more informed to better serve my clients as an architect.
Home Builders & Remodelers Association
I'm a proud member of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of the Connecticut River Region. I've been a part of their annual home show and a judge for their Student Design Competition for many years. I've networked with and built solid relationships with many talented builders over the years.
Newington Chamber of Commerce
I'm proud to serve as an Executive Director on the Newington Chamber of Commerce. I've been working with the chamber for years in a fundraising capacity and work with a great group of people in the business community. Giving back and staying connected to my community will always be important to me.
More about Jennifer
There's more than qualifications to choosing an architect, and sometimes it comes down to personality and if it's a good fit for you. We will be on a long journey together, so I think it's fitting to get to know me a little first. Here are some fun facts about me outside of architecture.
I was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Madison, WI. I moved to Tallahassee, FL during high school and went to college in Alabama at Auburn University. I've lived in Connecticut since 1997 and I consider it home even though I've lived all over the U.S. It has given me insight into many styles and types of architecture.
I'm married with 2 college aged daughters and I'm the proud owner of 3 dogs and 3 cats, all rescues. I'm an animal lover and I always ask my clients if they have pets because they need consideration in the design of the home too!
My hobbies include reading (I'm part of a local book club), writing (I've written and self-published a book), cooking, baking, photography, graphic design, jewelry making, and philanthropy. I'm involved with several local charities and enjoy helping in any way that I can with fundraising events.
Every year, I am a sponsor for the HBRA Student Design Competition, and I recently started the JMA Architecture & Construction Scholarship at Newington High School. I also serve as a guest critic for the University of Hartford’s Architecture program, critiquing 2nd & 3rd years students.
Being an architect with my own practice was always my dream and I consider myself very lucky to do what I love every day!
